OH based hardcore/metal band ENABLER – led by frontman, songwriter and guitarist Jeff Lohrber – stands as one of the most honest, pissed off and heartfelt metallic hardcore bands around today. The band's sound, which is a unique mixture of thrash, death metal, punk rock and hardcore has made an impact all over the world since their debut EP "Eden Sank To Grief" was first released on Andy Hurley's (Fall Out Boy, Racetraitor) FC Records in 2010. Two full length albums, four EPs, and multiple split and compilation appearances have been released on various labels since then including the critically acclaimed break-through album “All Hail The Void” on Southern Lord Records.
Lohrber had previously done his time in the band Harlots, who released three LPs and an EP before calling it a day in 2009. He had also served as a hired gun, drumming in Today Is The Day and Trap Them, among others, but had been writing and demoing his own songs for years. Harlot’s demise was the kick in the ass Lohrber needed to focus his all into what would become ENABLER and in just two year they had already released a few EPs and splits. With great press and many DIY tours, the band started to make a name for themselves in the underground punk/hardcore scene.
2012 saw the release of “All Hail The Void" which was produced by Greg Thomas of Misery Signals and featuring the aforementioned Hurley on drums. The band toured supporting Black Breath, Pelican, Poison Idea, Noothbrush and Tragedy as well as appeared at SXSW, Fun Fun Fun, The Fest, CMJ and did a headlining run through Australia that year.
Lohrber, never one to rest, recorded two more EPs the next year: "Shift Of Redemption" on Think Fast! Records and the "Flies" EP on the Compound, renowned PR firm, Earsplit’s label. Tours with Rotten Sound in both North America and Europe followed as well as an appearance at the This is Hardcore festival.
In 2014 Enabler recorded "La Fin Absolue Du Monde" which landed at the top of many year-end “Best Of’s” lists. Released in North America via The Compound and Creator Destructor, it was shortly after the release that they signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The album was reissued in Europe on CM and the band toured North America with Eyehategod and played the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest and that year’s Maryland Death Fest.
"Fail To Feel Safe” once again produced by Greg Thomas and marking the first recording with Lohrber handling all vocals and instruments, will be released worldwide on Century Media on August 14th. The first single, “By Demons Denied”, was released as a limited edition 7” prior to the album release and features an extended version of the title track. The record is the most focused and diverse album ENABLER has released. Years of touring and a constant flow of music has sharpened Lohrber’s writing skills and as the sole visionary helming the ship, the results are as sharp and flawless as ever.
