BAND WILL PLAY "SOLDIERS" LIVE AS TRIBUTE TO U.S. ARMED FORCES AND MAKE A DONATION TO WOUNDED WARRIORS PROJECT

Las Vegas - Century Media recording artist Otherwise will be the featured performer at the inaugural Nevadan by Choice Awards, which will take place Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at The Venetian Las Vegas Casino, Hotel & Resort.

The awards, sponsored by the Americans for Prosperity Foundation-Nevada and the Congress of Racial Equality, honor individuals who have immigrated to make Nevada their home and those who work to promote and uphold the United States Constitution.

Otherwise will perform their breakthrough single "Soldiers" in tribute to service members of the U.S. Armed Forces and make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project, which aids severely injured soldiers in their transition from service back to civilian life. The band is donating proceeds from the sale of the single, which has sold more than 10,000 copies to date.

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval will present the Defender of the Constitution Award and Senator Dean Heller will give the Nevadan by Choice Award before an audience of more than 350 people. More than three dozen Nevada residents were nominated for the two awards.

A reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Marcello Ballroom, followed by dinner and the awards at 6:30 p.m.
