VOIVOD most recently released a video for the song "Kluskap O'Kom", off the "Target Earth" album. The video was directed by Syl Disjonk and the director of photography was JP Bernier (Despised Icon). The video originally premiered at Philip H. Anselmo's Housecore Horror Film Festival in October in Austin, TX and can be viewed here: http://youtu.be/SyvR6kOy5p4
After quickly selling out their "Mechanical Mind" 7" release, VOIVOD also released a 7" for "Kluskap O'Kom", which features artwork from VOIVOD drummer Michael "Away" Langevin and is again strictly limited to 1000 copies worldwide. The b-side features a live version of Kluskap O'Kom recorded in Berlin on the band's last European headlining tour. The single comes in black, grey as well as black and white swirl colored vinyl and can be purchased here, next to other album formats and bundle options for the "Target Earth" release: http://smarturl.it/VoivodCMD
VOIVOD's "Target Earth", marked a first worldwide release via their new label partner Century Media Records and entered the national sales charts in Germany on position # 72. "Target Earth" was widely hailed as a return to form for the band and appeared in various "best of 2013" polls, such as Rolling Stone magazine's "20 best metal albums of 2013" listing, which can be checked out here: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/20-best-metal-albums-of-2013-20131211/voivod-target-earth-19691231
"Target Earth" was recorded at producer Pierre Rémillard's Wild Studios in Quebec and mixed by Sanford Parker (Pelican, Nachtmystium). The album brings back original bass player, Blacky (Jean Yves Thériault), marking his first recordings with the band since 1991's "Angel Rat." It's also the first to feature guitarist Chewy (Dan Mongrain), who cut his teeth playing guitar to the late Denis D'Amour's riffs and thus has matched his style to a tee. VOIVOD, as a full group, hadn't sat down to write a record together since 2003's self-titled album.
