Sweden’s NOCTURNAL RITES, who will make their North American debut at the [Chicago Powerfest 2006](http://www.chicagopowerfest.com/index.asp) Saturday April 8th, are ready to circumnavigate the world in support of their new album, Grand Illusion. Bassist Nils Eriksson said, “Man alive, we\\'re pumped. Over the next couple of months we\\'ll travel to all corners of the world. Starting with our debut U.S. appearance at the Chicago Powerfest, we’re then off to Japan for some headlining shows and then back home to Europe playing festivals like Bloodstock in the U.K. and Wacken Open Air in Germany. I am sure we\\'ll have a great time in the coming months, even though we’ll be busy trying to squeeze in some serious song-writing as well. To our U.S. fans, we can\\'t wait to see you all, it\\'s been a long time coming!”
“Like Manna from Heaven, 10/10” (*Outburn*) Sweden’s NOCTURNAL RITES blend melodic metal and powerful hard rock, with a deadly progressive thread. “Powerful melodic metal with an emphasis on largess of sound and arena-rock groove,” (*The Aquarian*) the band’s music is driven by thundering double-bass drums, authoritative vocal lines, gracefully fluid rhythm and awe-inspiring duel lead guitar grandeur.
