ION DISSONANCE To Release Cursed In North America On August 24th; Announce New Band Members

Montreal extreme metal purists, ION DISSONANCE, recently completed the recording process for their much anticipated new effort, Cursed, which is set for an August 24th North American release. The offering was tracked at .357 Productions with ION DISSONANCE guitar player, Antoine Lussier at the production helm. Stay tuned to www.myspace.com/iondissonance for a sneak peek into a new track and touring schedule.

Kevin (vocals) further states: "Since Cursed is now recorded, mixed and mastered we want to take a moment to clarify a few points. We have been getting asked a lot of questions and we want to make sure that we are all on the same level and answer these questions once and for all.

"The official release date in the U.S and Canada is scheduled for August 24th. A few release dates have been getting thrown around and we wanted to put the questions to rest. Also, our new friends at Basick Records will be releasing Cursed in Europe. The record will be out there on August 23rd and finally, Doom Patrol in Japan will be releasing the record there on August 24th as well. Both the European and the Japanese versions will have their own exclusive tracks, but more info on that later.

"To fill you in on this situation, we were originally planning on an earlier release date but unfortunately we encountered a few obstacles along the way, mainly mastering the disc. This made an earlier release date impossible. Another perfect example is the artwork. We wanted to work with Paul Romano but he is obviously very busy and we felt that waiting for his services was a better option than looking elsewhere. We love Paul's work and are insistent on having him follow up his work on Minus The Herd. So now that we have the artwork in hand we can definitely say that the wait was worth it.

"All this to say that when ION DISSONANCE decided to get together over a year ago to come out with our best work to date, we wanted to take every little detail into consideration to make sure this record was everything we ever wanted an ION DISSONANCE record to be. With that being said, we'll move on to another situation which needs to be addressed. After three long years of winging it as a four piece, we are now back to five members. Yannick Desgroseillers (formerly from Tears From The Sky) has now joined the ranks and will be playing bass, a role Sebastien has been filling in on since Xavier left the band. This switch will allow us to play some new songs on our upcoming shows, which to us is an unbelievable excitement. We can't wait to get out on the road this summer and see some familiar faces. It's been too long."

Ion Dissonance: : Reveal New Album Title; Comment On Recording Process

Montreal extreme metal purists, ION DISSONANCE, recently completed the recording process for their much anticipated new effort, Cursed, which is set for an early summer release. The offering was tracked at .357 Productions with Ion guitar player, Antoine Lussier (who also produced Emmure's latest) at the production helm. Fans can expect a more refined and streamlined approach that just goes straight for the jugular with a frenetic assault of the band's trademarked mathematic brutality. Stay tuned to The MySpace for current updates and touring schedule.

Kevin (vocals) further states: "We are now completely finished with the tracking process for our new album, Cursed. We only have a few more days of mixing left and we will be hitting up Wild Studios in the coming weeks to master our efforts and finally put an end to this horribly long and arduous recording process. We have been hacking away at this thing for the past three months and are down to our last few days. To see the light at the end of the tunnel and to hear what we have put together is motivating as Hell for us. We all had high hopes for this record and feel that we have undoubtedly delivered the goods."

Ion Dissonance: : In The Studio; Much Anticipated New Full-Length Album Set For Early Summer Release

Montreal extreme metal purists, ION DISSONANCE are currently holed up at .357 Productions with Ion guitar player, Antoine Lussier (who also produced Emmure's latest) at the production helm. The much anticipated new effort is tentatively set for an early summer release and fans can expect a more refined and streamlined approach that just goes straight for the jugular with a frenetic assault of the band's trademarked mathematic brutality. Stay tuned to www.myspace.com/iondissonance for current updates and touring schedule.

Kevin (vocals) further states: "So we are currently wrapping up our third week in the studio. The drum tracks have been completed and we are now halfway through recording guitars. Everything is going a hell of a lot better than we could ever expect. As a result, we are all stoked beyond belief at how retarded these new tracks sound.

"Have you ever noticed that every band recording lately tends to release the exact same quote? 'This recording is the best ever put out, and the songs are the best ever written, and blah blah blah.' Well, we want to switch it up a little bit and mention that this recording will be what you make it out to be.

"You have all noticed that ION DISSONANCE has been off the road at home for the last few years. This gave us the opportunity to work out new tracks and take them in a new direction. We wanted to make sure everything was well polished before recording a single note. The end result is astonishing. It's exactly what you would expect from us, a band who is pissed off and ready to take this game to a whole new level.

"The Breathing Is Irrelevant and Solace albums brought about a solid fanbase of tech heads that whine and complain about Minus The Herd being too simplistic. What we wanted to do with this new effort is to find the perfect balance between both without being categorized in a single genre. Once that was achieved, we wanted to turn up a notch in terms of extremeness. That's pretty much where we're at. More news to follow soon."
