Zimmers Hole: : ZIMMERS HOLE Cancel North American Fall Tour; Post New Video Online

Vancouver's most punishing metal export, ZIMMERS HOLE, have unfortunately had to cancel their upcoming fall North American tour with Sigh due to reasons beyond their control. Jed Simon (guitars) further states: "Crappy news for our fans and promoters today. It is with deep regret and totally un-metal sorrow that we must cancel our upcoming North American tour with Sigh. Events beyond our control have made this impossible for us to do. Immigration issues are at the crux of the matter, and as we\\'re sure you\\'ll understand, no further explanation is really needed there apart from our sincerest apologies to the people who have been waiting for us to finally come to the U.S. We will be honoring our western Canadian dates, beginning September 23rd in Winnipeg, and continuing through October 6th in Kamloops.

All is not lost though, there are other U.S. tour plans in the works at this moment. We hope to have an announcement for you in the very near future. Our thanks to the fans for your patience, to the promoters/clubs for all your hard work. To Sigh, Unexpect and their respective crews much love and respect. We\\'ll miss you out there. With love, respect and sagging metal spikes."

The group recently shot a new video for the album's title track, "When You Were Shouting At the Devil, We Were In League With Satan," with renowned director Ryan Short (Himsa) and it's definitely not your average promotional video clip as Byron Stroud (bass) states: "Working with Ryan on our new video was amazing. We managed to pull some favors from friends in the film industry and they supplied us with a shit load of fire and explosions. Good times were had by all."

With a wicked, twisted sense of humor and an undying love for true metal, guitarist Jed Simon (Tenet, SYL) and bass player Byron Stroud (Fear Factory, SYL) pay homage to the genre by celebrating its eccentricities in their Canadian quartet, ZIMMERS HOLE. Rounded out by their certifiable vocalist The Heathen and long-time biggest fan Gene Hoglan (Dethklok, SYL) on drums, THE HOLE, as they are affectionately known by their loyal legion of miscreant followers, will reach worldwide audiences for the first time with their third full-length, When You Were Shouting At the Devil, We Were In League With Satan, produced by the infamous Devin Townsend (Darkest Hour, Lamb of God).

Although THE HOLE was dug before the formation of Strapping Young Lad, this is the first time Simon and Stroud have had the time to devote all their attention to the band, resulting in a more focused, streamlined effort. The inherent insanity in a project like THE HOLE is still there, but traditional metal influences abound in the epic, fist-pumping feel of songs like "We Rule the Fucking Land" and "Flight of the Knight Bat." The crisp but cutting production clearly places When You Were Shouting on the modern side of things but Simon's thrashy riffs and Hoglan's blistering pace give the album a timeless and dangerous edge. This is a record for those true metal fans hungry for something that's going to get their heart pumping and head banging. After all, THE HOLE are as serious about having fun as they are about keeping the integrity of metal intact.
