FIREWIND, Greece's leading metal band spearheaded by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., will be releasing a new live album entitled "Apotheosis - Live 2012" on June 24th, 2013 via Century Media Records in Europe, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the band in style. The cover artwork for "Apotheosis - Live 2012", which will be released as Digipak in its first limited edition pressing, can be viewed above. It was designed by FIREWIND's longtime partner in all design matters, Gustavo Sazes / abstrata.net (Arch Enemy, Angra, Dream Evil, etc.) based on live photography by Hans-W. Rock. "Apotheosis - Live 2012" also marks the final FIREWIND release with longterm singer Apollo Papathanasio, who left the band by the end of last year. Greek melodic Metallers FIREWIND, featuring guitar-wizard Gus G., have recently returned from an extensive North American tour together with Turisas and Stolen Babies, on which Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Adagio, Beyond Twilight) debuted as session frontman. Now, FIREWIND are happy to reveal that they will be releasing a new live album on June 24th, 2013 via Century Media Records in Europe to celebrate the 10th band anniversary in style. Entitled "Apotheosis - Live 2012", the album will contain 17 songs recorded at special anniversary shows in Greece as well as all over Europe during the band's "Few Against Many" tour in 2012 with a playing time of 69 minutes featuring a great overview of the band's career so far, which spans over 7 studio albums so far. This live-album also marks the final release with longterm singer Apollo Papathanasio, who decided to step down from his duties as singer by the end of last year. Firewind: : Apollo Papathansio quits; Replacement vocalist announced for upcoming touring!

Melodic Metallers FIREWIND have announced Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Adagio, Beyond Twilight, etc. / Pictured on top!) as new vocalist for their upcoming North American touring activities, after longterm vocalist Apollo Papathanasio parted ways with the band. Even though Papathanasio has been temporarily replaced for some touring activities in the past, he has appeared on all FIREWIND releases since 2006's "Allegiance" album and the band's upcoming live-album will feature recordings from his recent final shows with the group. FIREWIND have checked in to comment the news as follows: "Today we are in the unfortunate position to announce that Apollo has decided to step down permanently from the vocal duties in FIREWIND. For the past few years it was evident that Apollo could not keep up with FIREWIND's ever growing and demanding touring & promotional schedule. Several times we've had to recruit replacements in order to continue touring the world and keep playing for our fans. We're lucky enough to have worked with some of the best Metal singers out there! Although we're sad to announce Apollo's departure and we sure will miss him, at the same time we feel that the show must go on! FIREWIND is a band that has gone thru lots of ups and downs the past 10 years, but is still going strong! Greek melodic Metallers FIREWIND are wrapping up their successful "Few Against Many" European/UK tour together with Leaves' Eyes this weekend with shows in Zwolle (The Netherlands) and Vosselaar (Belgium). In the meantime FIREWIND have already started to announce the next string of live activities in support of their acclaimed current album "Few Against Many" for 2013, which includes a first-ever visit of Australia in April, the Full Metal Cruise event in May as well as an appearance at UK's Bloodstock Open Air in August.
