In regards to the album artwork, front-woman Alissa White-Gluz comments: "We wanted to really include a chaotic visual to reflect the chaotic sound of the band, but we also wanted to show that the lyrics on this album are a lot more introverted...The human face was left non-descript on purpose-- it doesn't belong to any particular person, but we could call him the Lonely Solipsist." After spending many months in the studio, melodic death metallers THE AGONIST have finally finished their long-awaited third studio album, Prisoners. Produced by Christian Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY) and mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY, SUICIDE SILENCE), Prisoners is set to be released via Century Media Records on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in North America, and it picks right up where 2009's Lullabies for the Dormant Mind left off, with soaring melodies over complex metal passages that fans of thinking-man's metal can appreciate. The Agonist's Alissa White-Gluz has been named the world's "Sexist Female Vegetarian" by Peta2. She comments: "I have been vegetarian since birth and vegan for more than half my life," she remarked. "Living cruelty-free is the closest thing to a religion I'll ever believe in and it is a huge part of me and my music. Of course, the 'sexiest veg celebrity' contest is just for fun, but I do like how it shines a different light on the idea of veganism/vegetarianism. It's showing people that a lot of the celebrities that they look up to and admire already follow this lifestyle, and that it's not some weird, challenging, alienating ordeal to be veg - it's simple, healthy, popular, and, well, sexy! I'm very honored to have won." The Agonist are currently in the studio with Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Suicide Silence), working on their upcoming release, a follow-up to their 2009 effort 'Lullabies for the Dormant Mind'. All instruments have been tracked and Alissa is in the midst of finishing up her vocals on the album, due in early 2012.
