KYPCK: : photos & video footage from Moscow available!

Russia's Darkside e-zine has posted high-quality photos and video footage of Russian-singing Finnish doom act KYPCK's January 17, 2009 concert at club Tochka in Moscow www.darkside.ru/report/3671

More photos of the Moscow concert can be found at

http://musica.mustdie.ru/ru/galleries/1/286/ A live clip of KYPCK performing the song "Demon" can be watched here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC7Aydl_uqM

According to Sami Lopakka it was a truly fantastic experience: "It was overwhelming how warm their welcome was to our cold music. Kypck has found its home, and we are already looking forward to going back to Russia."

KYPCK ("Kursk" in the western alphabet) feature former Sentenced guitarist Sami Lopakka, former Sentenced bassist Sami Kukkohovi live on guitar, vocalist E. Seppänen, bassist J. T. Ylä-Rautio and renowned producer Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Apocalyptica, Sentenced, etc.), who plays drums in the band under the name K. H. M. Hiilesmaa.

KYPCK's debut album, "Cherno", was originally released through the Finnish label UHO Production and despite the album's crushing, doomy nature and Russian lyrics went straight to No. 11 on the Finnish chart. Century Media Records released the album worldwide in summer 2008.

KYPCK: : launch DOOMSDAY-PARTY! New album "Cherno" out in Europe July 21, 2008!

KYPCK (or 'Kursk' in the western alphabet) is a Finnish doomsday metal band singing in Russian. Their debut album "Cherno", which has been originally released through the Finnish label UHO Production in March 2008 and entered the Finnish album charts at #11, will be released all across Europe via Century Media Records on July 21st, 2008 to allow this crushingly doomy effort to reach a wider audience.

KYPCK's crew features vocalist E. Seppänen, guitarist S. S. Lopakka (formerly Sentenced), bassist J. T. Ylä-Rautio and drummer K. H. M. Hiilesmaa who is also known as the producer of HIM, Lordi, Sentenced, Moonspell, Apocalyptica and many others. It was only logical that Hiilesmaa was also in charge of KYPCK's heavy and (in its original sense) grinding production. E. Seppänen has lived in Russia for 2,5 years, studied in St. Petersburg and worked at the embassy in Moscow. He recently got his degree from Oxford, and as a part time job teaches Russian in Tampere, Finland. Hence, he is more than legitimate to sing in Russian.

Now, KYPCK wants you - the fans - to join their official DOOMSDAY-PARTY and help supporting this truly special band with their own fan-army. Just send an email to kypck-doomsdayparty@centurymedia.de, write "I want to join the party!" in the subject line and you will receive all necessary information! By posting banners, widgets, bulletins about KYPCK you can collect points and will need to send us proofs of your activities by making screenshots and sending them to the aforementioned email address. After you have collected a certain amount of points, we will reward your efforts with a KYPCK poster (signed by the entire band) and other goodies! So, visit www.myspace.com/kypckdoomsdayparty for further info and loads of material to spread around the internet!

The band's debut downfall, the full-length album entitled "Cherno", was completed during 2007 and originally released through the Finnish label UHO Production in March 2008. Despite the album's crushing, doomy nature and Russian lyrics, it went straight to #11 in the Finnish charts. "Cherno" will finally be out in the rest of Europe via Century Media Records on the following dates:

GERMANY / AUSTRIA / SWITZERLAND / BENELUX: Friday, July 18, 2008.

SWEDEN / HUNGARY: Wednesday, July 23, 2008.
ITALY: Friday, August 29, 2008.

Guitarist S. S. Lopakka comments:
"We are more than thrilled to get "Cherno" released worldwide, and Century Media is just a perfect harbor for the wreckage of our submarine."

Century Media Records A&R Melanie Schmidt on the co-operation:
"I am excited to be working with KYPCK. In the past Sami Lopakka and Century Media have been working closely on SENTENCED. POISONBLACK (who were founded by former SENTENCED singer Ville Laihiala) will be releasing their 3rd album "A Dead Heavy Day" September 1st. Thus, to have KYPCK in the Century Family feels great to us. Some people might wonder why we would release a Finnish metal band singing in Russian. The answer is very simple: Some of the most unusual bands did and do best for us, no matter if it is battle metal hailing from Finland with warmongers TURISAS, ORPHANED LAND sending ethno metal from Israel, FIREWIND shredding classic heavy metal from Greece and last but not least LACUNA COIL bringing stellar success from Italy. Century Media Records likes the challenge and believes that success comes with creativity and bands being "different". Russia has an amazing and interesting culture. Also, there is deep links between the Finnish and Russian culture, so why not singing in Russian?"
