Jeff Loomis: : presents brand-new song

JEFF LOOMIS is proud to present the brand-new song "A Liar's Chain" recorded with his touring line-up consisting of the young talents Joe Nurre (Guitar and Vocals), Anup Sastry (Drums) and Greg Macklin (Bass).

Jeff comments: "A Liar's Chain is the first of three songs that I recorded with my band to officially debut online. We started playing it live on our last US run and it seemed to go over really well with fans. I had so much fun recording Surrender with Ihsahn on vocals for my last solo album that I wanted to do more songs like that. Joe Nurre, who has been playing guitar in my band for the last year or so, has a pretty killer death metal voice, so I thought it would be perfect to do some more stuff like this with him as well as the rest of the guys.

I'm really looking forward to getting over to Europe again. I have so much fun there. The Euroblast tour and festival has some amazing musicians on it, which is going to be really special for me as well, as I love watching and hearing great bands play. We're going to be playing A Liar's Chain as well as one other new song with Joe singing. I look forward to seeing everyone there."

"A Liar's Chain" will be premiered by the Euroblast tour partner METAL HAMMER Germany on Thursday, October 4th, 2012 at 14:00 Central European Time. Click HERE to get blown away and don't miss to JEFF LOOMIS live.

JEFF LOOMIS's second solo album "Plains Of Oblivion" was released in April 2012 via Century Media Records. The album was produced by Aaron Smith (7 Horns / Eyes) and features cover artwork by Colin Marks of Rain Song Design, who has previously worked on JEFF's solo debut "Zero Order Phase" as well as the Nevermore DVD "The Year Of The Voyager", Bleed From Within, Aborted and many more.

Right now JEFF LOOMIS is on his Australian Clinic Tour to present his new Schecter JLV7 signature guitar model (see dates below).

Jeff Loomis: : Rock Hard Germany presents new JEFF LOOMIS song feat. IHSAHN

JEFF LOOMIS of Nevermore fame is proud to present a new song of the upcoming album "Plains Of Oblivion" that will be released on April 10th in North America and April 9th in Europe via Century Media Records.
"Surrender" features guest vocals by Ihsahn (also known for his groundbreaking work with Norwegian Black Metal innovators Emperor) and you can hear it first through the website of the German ROCK HARD magazine HERE.

Jeff Loomis about the song and collaboration with Ihsahn: "At first I thought Christine Rhoades would be the only guest singer on the record, but then this one song started coming together, it's pretty brutal. I've always wanted to do really, really heavy music and after hearing this, both Aaron and myself thought we needed some crazy, sick singer on it. We just sat around tossing names out for a bit, nothing really was sticking and then Aaron says, 'I got it ... Ihsahn' and it was one of those moments where you knew that was the answer all along, it just hadn't been unlocked in your mind yet. Anyway, a few short emails back and forth and we had his vocal track in. It came out amazing. I can't wait for you to hear it. Ihsahn, thanks again, it's an honor to have you on my record."

Ihsahn added: "I was both surprised and honored when Jeff asked me to sing on one of the songs for his upcoming album. He sent me a killer track, so it was easy to get inspiration for both words and vocal ideas, and I think it came out really well. Jeff is an amazing musician and I'm really looking forward to hearing the final album. Also, in the collaborative spirit, I got him to lay down a solo for my own new album."
The album was produced by Aaron Smith (7 Horns 7 Eyes) and will be released on April 10th in North America and April 9th in Europe via Century Media Records.
Here's a teaser with samples of all songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeJXxsbzYX0

"My good friend, Joe Nurre from up here in Seattle, will be playing guitar with me out on this run with Protest the Hero and Periphery. Some of you might have seen him play with Nevermore on the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise last year. I was lucky enough to find this killer drummer online. His name is Anup Sastry, I've seen him do these perfect drum covers on his Youtube page. I reached out and learned he plays in a few great bands as well. You should check out all the stuff he's done. Anup is based out in the DC area and brought in a friend of his, Greg Macklin, to do bass. Those guys are going to be getting together out there to start practicing the set. Joe and I will do the same over here and then a couple weeks before the tour, Joe and I will fly over Maryland and we'll all rehearse until we get things perfect. I can't wait to get out there and start playing live again. See you soon."

Jeff Loomis: : announces NAMM appearances; reveals guest musicians on upcoming album

Guitar prodigy JEFF LOOMIS has locked himself in the studio for the past few months perfecting his highly anticipated sophomore solo record, to be released later this year. After his departure from NEVERMORE and the release of his solo debut -- Zero Order Phase in 2008 -- fans have been craving a new album. With a number of influential musicians appearing on the upcoming release, JEFF LOOMIS is more than ready to deliver. Details on two NAMM appearances have also been announced. JEFF LOOMIS comments:
"A couple of years ago I achieved my childhood dream of releasing a solo album. With the releasing of my second record coming up, I'm proud to announce another dream come true...or should I say dreams...Marty Friedman, Tony MacAlpine and Chris Poland have all done guest solos for it. These guys must have given me hundreds of blisters on my fingers when I was a kid trying in vain to emulate their work. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out some of their solos. To have three guitar players that I looked up to as a young player and still hold in such high regard is simply amazing. I can't thank those guys enough.
In other news, I'll be down in Southern CA next week for this year's NAMM show. I have two new Schecter models that I'll be showing and I'll be doing a signing Saturday, the 21st, at their booth at 1pm as well as another one later that day with Engl Amps at 5. Also, I just confirmed a full US tour for April. I can't wait to get back out on the road again. More details on that soon."
Loomis' complex shredding has been a central part of the progressive but powerful and thrashy edge often attributed to NEVERMORE's trademark sound since the band's formation in 1992. As the band's lone permanent guitarist, he's been responsible for some of the most awe-inspiring riffs modern metal has ever heard. Due to his instantly recognizable style fans have been calling for a JEFF LOOMIS solo album for years. With most in the band taking a rare and much-deserved break (singer Warrel Dane just released his solo album "Praises To The War Machine" in April 2008), after six albums with NEVERMORE Loomis finally had the opportunity to hit the studio himself and the outcome entitled "Zero Order Phase" is nothing short of remarkable.

Robert Lang Studios played host to Loomis' first solo effort earlier this year with producer Neil Kernon and drummer Mark Arrington joining the fray as well as guest contributions by Ron Jarzombek (Watchtower, on "Jato Unit"), Michael Manring, Pat O' Brien (Cannibal Corpse, on "Rage Against Disaster") and Neil Kernon.

Everybody who wants to watch Jeff's live skills can also look forward to the upcoming first NEVERMORE DVD/Live Album "The Year Of The Voyager" which will be released October 20th, 2008, in Europe.

Jeff Loomis: : First solo album to be released in August 2008!

JEFF LOOMIS' complex shredding has been a central part of the progressive but powerful and thrashy edge often attributed to NEVERMORE's trademark sound since the band's formation in 1992. As the band's lone permanent guitarist, he's been responsible for some of the most awe-inspiring riffs modern metal has ever heard. Taking the classic techniques he learned from listening to legends like Jason Becker and Yngwie Malmsteen as a teen and applying his own ingenuity, Loomis has carved his own niche and created an instantly recognizable style. As a result of his invaluable contributions to Nevermore's success, fans have been calling for a JEFF LOOMIS solo album for years.

Robert Lang Studios played host to Loomis' first solo, all-instrumental venture earlier this year with producer Neil Kernon and drummer Mark Arrington joining the fray, Loomis reveals more about this collaboration:

"I'm proud to say everything is done with my new instrumental CD "Zero Order Phase". This has been something I've wanted to do for a long time, and the timing couldn't have been better. I feel very fortunate to have worked with so many great talents that include Ron Jarzombek (Watchtower, on "Jato Unit"), Michael Manring, and Pat O' Brien (Cannibal Corpse, on "Rage Against Disaster") as guest solo musicians who have all contributed to this project. Working with Neil Kernon again was also great. He really pushed my playing to a different level, and also made me think differently than my usual approach to guitar playing. Last but not least, I'd like to mention my great friend Mark Arrington (Mark played on half of the very first Nevermore CD back when the band first started). We shared a certain chemistry while recording in the studio that made things laid back but really intense at the same time musically. I hope Nevermore fans enjoy this as much as I had a great time doing it."
