Swedish death metal legends GRAVE will release their 10th studio album "Endless Procession Of Souls" on August 27th in Europe and on August 28th in North America via Century Media Records.
Grave: : Announce special 20th Anniversary concert for "Into The Grave" debut album; North American Tour Re-Cap; Commence working on new studio album; Switch Guitarists!

Swedish old school Death Metal originals GRAVE, who recently signed a new worldwide deal with their initial home Century Media Records, have checked in after a long North American tour - alongside Blood Red Throne, Pathology and Gigan - with an update from their camp's activities, starting with a brief tour re-cap:

<i>"So back in dark, cold and rainy Sweden again after a successful North American tour. We had a great time and many great shows. Since we haven't headlined the US since 1996 we didn't know what to expect but I must say that we were pleasantly overwhelmed by the response from our fans. This gave us the kick in the nuts and the motivation to get back over there again in a near future. A huge special thanks to our kickass roadcrew: T-Wayne, T-Bone and The Colonel."</i>

Next up, GRAVE will be playing a very special Stockholm hometown show for the 20th Anniversary of the release of their "Into The Grave" debut album. The show takes place on November 12th at Kulturhuset in Stockholm / Sweden and will be supported by General Surgery (20th Anniversary of the "Necrology" debut EP) and also Vicious Art (last gig ever!). The band comments as follows:

<i>"Right now we're preparing for an epic night of old school madness. November 12th we will play a very
special Anniversary gig at Club Distortion/Kulturhuset here in Stockholm. The classic "Into the Grave" album will be run through from "Deformed" to "Banished to Live", plus another handful of classic tunes.
Support acts are the mighty Vicious Art and General Surgery. Be there or be square..."</i>

Next up, GRAVE will be busy working on their upcoming studio album effort, marking the 10th studio album in the band's history and can also announce a line-up change in their rhythm guitar department. But read it from GRAVE's Ola Lindgren himself:

<i>"The plans for our next studio album is also already in the works. We will start writing and arranging songs in November and enter the legendary Studio Soulless again in early January. We also have a very cool idea for a special bonus disc, more on this later. Stay tuned for video diaries and sneak peeks which will be updated all through the process. Album #10 is scheduled for release by Century Media Records before the summer 2012."

Last but not least in this small update we want to inform you that our guitarist Magnus Martinsson is no longer in the band. But don't worry ladies, we will keep goin'. Magnus has played with us since 2008 and did some epic tours/shows with us. We took this joint decision after going through plans for next year and we needed to address this within the band before we start the new album process. There aren't now and have never been any hard feelings between us and we wish him the best in any future endeavors. See Magnus statement below...

We've recruited Mika Lagreen (Facebreaker) for the Stockholm Anniversary gig and he should fit right in since he already handled the stage left axe on our latest European tour. He will of course also be with us through the new album process and upcoming shows/tours."</i>

Magnus Martinsson posted the following additional message about the amicable split:
<i>"Hello all you death metal heads!
I'd like to inform you that myself and the rest of the band have come to the mutual decision that I will no longer be a member and guitar player of Grave. People develop on and off the field, and sometimes in different directions, and I feel I can't fully commit to the bands upcoming and intense touring plans. So the time has come for me to pass the torch. No drama or bloodshed has occurred and I wish the guys all the best for the future.

It's been a great time since I joined Grave back in 2008; I have many amazing memories from our gigs, tours and travels together, and all amazing fans and friends out there. We've toured all over the world, toured together with great bands/guys like Nile, Misery Index, Belphegor, Krisiun and Vader, just to mention a few. It's been a blast!
But don't worry folks; I won't stop playing music. Check out my new band Overtorture. Alle ska döj!"</i>

Next to the mentioned North American tour, GRAVE have mercilessly toured all across Europe with acts like Misery Index or Obituary in the past year in order to promote their latest album "Burial Ground", but were also playing special live-sets for the 20th Anniversary of their "Into The Grave" debut album-release at selected festivals/events.

Grave: : Sign new worldwide deal with Century Media Records; Touring North America in August/September; Stay total fucking old school Swedish Death Metal!

Following Iced Earth and Borknagar, Century Media Records is proud to welcome back another band under the family's wings: GRAVE. One of the very first Swedish Death Metal bands alongside Nihilist, Morbid and Treblinka, the band initially released their first demo in 1986 under the bandname Corpse, before they switched to GRAVE in 1988 and throughout all these years, they haven't changed their style very much, while other companions left the true Death Metal path along the way, to bigger or less success. But it's GRAVE's longevity and consistency that survived any trend since the late 80's and established them as one of the most important Death Metal bands 'Now and Forever'.

Jens Prueter, Head of A&R Century Media Europe, comments on GRAVE's return: <i>"First time I saw GRAVE was in May 1992 when my friend Robert Kampf (founder of CM) asked me if I wanted to get tattooed by Vinny Daze (R.I.P.) from Demolition Hammer, who was in town with Massacre and Grave. I went to the show with the intention to get my first tattoo but was blown away by Grave's pure Death Metal blast and ended up being way too drunk to still get inked later that night. I never tried to get tattooed again, but I stuck to GRAVE and I'm more than glad to welcome back Ola and his 'new' guys to Century Media."</i>

GRAVE's singer, guitarist and founding member Ola Lindgren adds: <i>"We are very happy and psyched to announce that we have signed back to our old trusty workhorse Century Media Records! After some while of negotiations and a meeting in Dortmund/Germany the week before we played Death Feast Open air, we finally sealed the new deal. The future plan is to have a new GRAVE studio album out in 2012 and we will start putting the pieces together for that this fall, after the headlining tour of North America. We are truly looking forward to working together again with some of our old friends as well as all the new staff in the CM offices worldwide!"</i>

The photo above documents GRAVE's victorious visit at the German office of Century Media, featuring from left to right Century Media staffers Stefan Franke, Philipp Schulte, Jens Prueter and GRAVE members Ronnie Bergerstål, Ola Lindgren, Tobias Cristiansson and Magnus Martinsson.

GRAVE originally released their debut album "Into The Grave" 20 years ago (August 1991) as the tenth album release of the back then young label Century Media. As founding member Ola Lindgren remembers in the "Swedish Death Metal" book by Daniel Ekeroth:<i>"We sent our third demo to just every label there was. A lot of them kept in touch, such as Earache and Peaceville. But Century Media was working faster than any of them, so we just went with them without thinking too much about it. Century Media invited us down to Germany to record that single ('Tremendous Pain'), and it was only after that we started to discuss a deal. It felt amazing for us to go abroad, so in a way they lured us into their roster! But it turned out well."</i>

While Century Media and GRAVE parted ways after 7 albums with the release of 2006's "As Rapture Comes", the band has launched the two highly acclaimed albums "Dominium VIII" (2008) and "Burial Ground" (2010) ever since. In 2010 the band's 12CD+1DVD box-set "Death Unhallowed" (including all recordings from 1986 - 2006) was released in cooperation with Century Media and the early Corpse / Putrefaction / Grave demos have also most recently been released this year as a deluxe triple vinyl set entitled "Necropsy - The Complete Demo Recordings 1986-1991".

Grave: : "Masters of Death" tour ahead und Live DVD in the works!

Right on time with the cold and frosty season a hardly to top death metal avalanche is ready to crush everyone of you: Swedish death metal pioneers GRAVE get on European tour with Stockholm's death metal elite! Fittingly entitled "Masters of Death", cult death metal hordes Dismember, Entombed, Unleashed and - of course - GRAVE will rip your local stages to shreds. In addition to that, GRAVE are set to soon deliver their first official live DVD release ever, offering a recent concert recording as well as rare live footage, video clips and more. Vocalist Ola comments:

"The "Enraptured" DVD recording in Warsaw, Poland went very well. Great production crew and organisation from Metal Mind. The crowd was totally into the show and it felt really good to have that kind of response on such an important gig. We shot 16 songs and I can't wait to get the preview version. We have also been digging deep in the Grave archives for bonus material and there is a lot to choose from, so we'll see what ends up in the final release...

The "Masters of Death" tour will kick off in about 2 months time and we are really looking forward to it. To share the stage with 3 of Sweden's greatest death metal bands (Entombed, Unleashed, Dismember) of all times will be a great experience. Also, being on the road with a bunch of good old friends will surely make this tour very special, not to mention the killer shows we will have...
Metalll/Ola & GRAVE"

Also, GRAVE will represent pure death metal mastery in North America with label mates Vital Remains as well as Dismember, Demiricious and Withered in October as well as in December with Dismember, Entombed and The Absence. So, don't miss your chance to witness them on stage!

Grave: : Complete their new album "As Rapture Comes"!

Death metal legions of the world rejoice! A new, massive masterpiece by Sweden's death metal cult-act GRAVE is coming your way. Entitled "As Rapture Comes" the new recording shall enrapture anyone who digs uncompromisingly extreme, heavy, groovy and gloomy death metal.

Vocalist/guitarist Ola Lindgren comments the completion of the recording as follows:

"The new album is finally completed. 9 tracks which can only be described as the most aggressive, evil and brutal stuff we have ever created both sound and song-wise. The album was recorded by ourselves at Studio Soulless and the final mix was made in the Abyss Studio with Peter Tägtgren. This one takes GRAVE into a new dimension while still staying true to our legacy of brutal, heavy death metal."

"As Rapture Comes", which was completed following GRAVE's successful European tour with label mates Cryptopsy and Aborted in February, will hit stores in Europe on July 24th, 2006 and July 25, 2006 in the US. Be ready for another GRAVE-styled Swedish death metal masterpiece, showcasing the band's dynamic groove, more aggressive feel than ever before and it also contains a heavy remake of the Alice In Chains classic "Them Bones".

The displayed cover artwork for "As Rapture Comes" was designed by the Polish artist Jacek Wisnieswki, who hasn't only worked with GRAVE on the previous "Back From The Grave" and "Fiendish Regression" albums, but who also created great images for releases by bands such as Krisiun, Vader, Decapitated and many more.
