UK's progressive rock band TESSERACT is gearing up for the release of their upcoming album and European tour. The band has been rehearsing nonstop and recently recorded footage of them in their practice space jamming on the track "Singularity". You can view the footage here: http://youtu.be/G2-bBAslW1o "Singularity" is part of the "Of Energy" movement from Altered State and has been chosen as the first single and video off the album. An edited version of the song will be making its premiere on the BBC's Radio One Rock Show show this coming Monday. Expect the song to hit online shortly thereafter. Video production began on "Singularity" a few days ago. Produced by Horsie In The Hedge / Pari Passu Films and featuring the Emmy Award winning director of photography, Mark Wolf as well as the practical effects team that worked on Skyfall and Prometheus, the video is sure to be as cinematically stunning as the music itself. "Altered State" will be released on May 27 (USA May 28th), 2013 via Century Media Records. The album will be available as limited special edition 2 CD including the entire album as instrumental version, as double LP in different vinyl color options and of course as standard CD and Digital download. UK Progressive Metal band, TesseracT, are excited to welcome Ashe O'Hara into the group as their new vocalist. Ashe's power, emotion, and diversity will help to continue the distinctive yet ever evolving TesseracT sound. Hailing from Northampton originally, Ashe spent his early years singing in many different groups, from choirs to musical theatre, and has more recently worked on a number of ambient/alternative metal projects as well as session work. Ashe currently resides in Hove, East Sussex and is eagerly awaiting the upcoming tour and working on the new album. Since Animals As Leaders had to cancel their European tour, TESSERACT had to switch some of their scheduled headlining dates as well. "Following the announcement of Animals As Leaders' cancellation of their headline tour, we have very reluctantly been forced to cancel some of our planned headline shows in Aarau, Vienna and Ostrava however rest assured we will be coming back next year. Myself and Acle spent ages looking at different tracks. I think we entertained 'Tear Drop' by Massive Attack, 'Thin Air' by Anathema, and many more. But 'Dream Brother' just fits TESSERACT very well. Plus it is one of our collective favourite tracks. It's always a risk working with a track that you love, but we feel we did it justice. It's a great showcase for the musicianship in TESSERACT, and the deep emotive power that Elliot has added to the band since he joined." "Dream Brother" will be out on the "Perspective-EP" that is set for a European release of May 21th and a North American release of May 22.
