New Years Day: : Announce June 17th release of 'Victim to Villain' on Century Media Records

On June 17th, NEW YEARS DAY will further their quest to unite the living, dead and undead with the release of their new album "Victim To Villain" on Century Media Records. Led by the dynamic Ash Costello, these Orange County alt-rockers will haunt your stereo and warm your heart, their tongue-in-cheek macabre and molten mischief sure to become mainstay in summer soundtracks nationwide. Produced by Erik Ron [Panic At The Disco, Saosin], the album features a guest appearance by Motionless In White front man Chris Motionless on the track "Angel Eyes." See below for the album cover and track listing.

"When we hit the studio with Erik Ron to start writing last summer, the theme and idea for this album came almost immediately," says Costello. "I was dealing with so much at that point in my life and I felt like I had to make a choice to wake up in the morning and stop being the victim to it all and start owning my power and let my inner villain come out. The album follows that story, the transformation, and the satisfying vengeance that comes along with it. The direction is heavier and darker but still has that hauntingly weird and fun vibe that we have become known for!"

New Years Day: : Premieres New Song, "Do Your Worst" with AbsolutePunk.net

It's been over a year since NEW YEARS DAY released The Mechanical Heart EP and since then, fans have been dying to hear recorded versions of the new songs they've been hearing live. NEW YEARS DAY has teamed up with ABSOLUTEPUNK.NET to make some of those wishes come true by premiering a brand new song titled "Do Your Worst". Recorded with Erik Ron [Panic! At The Disco, Get Scared, Saosin], the track is a preview into the band's highly-anticipated, long-awaited full length album that will be released in 2013 via Century Media Records. "This was the first time NYD had really ever made a real studio album," explains vocalist Ash Costello. "After coming from recording songs in our bedroom, this was a huge step for us. 'Do Your Worst' was the song that most effortlessly came together and was one of the first tracks we wrote completely new during the recording process. No humans were harmed in the making of this song... OK, well maybe a few were."

Pulling influence from My Chemical Romance, AFI and Queen, UnderTheGunReview.net says NEW YEARS DAY has a "catchy and accessible sound that is downright infectious," while AbsolutePunk.net says of vocalist Ash Costello, "The girl can sing, there is no way of getting around it."
