On February 26th, 2007 CENTURY MEDIA REDORDS released “Aeonics – An Anthology”, an overview of Swiss metal visionaries SAMAEL’s entire musical history. “Aeonics – An Anthology” has been developed in close collaboration with the band. This album is not a simple cash-in Best-Of CD, but a sophisticatedly and carefully arranged collection of musical milestones spanning SAMAEL’s entire career. The album contains 19 tracks (clocking for over 79 minutes), which as a whole transport all the uniqueness of this black & gothic metal pioneers. Along with known classics like “Rain” and “Moonskin” from the “Passage” album, “The Cross” and “Supra Karma” from “Eternal” or “Telepath” and “On Earth” from their latest album “Reign Of Light”, there are also songs of their debut “Worship Him”, songs taken from the Black-Metal-classics “Blood Ritual” and “Ceremony Of Opposites”, as well as songs of their experimental electronic two disc album “Era One/ Lessons in Magic #1”.
In addition to the top-class song selection done by the band themselves, the album is going to enthuse not only fans of old, but also those who never did come across SAMAEL before. Apart from a luxurious packaging, the CD comes along with a 24-pages booklet containing not only all lyrics but also countless old photos and shots of rare shirt, LP and EP designs plus fascinatingly detailed liner notes to every song by vocalist and guitarist Vorph. The pitch black disc, a beautiful shiny black tray along with a black, glossy slipcase make “Aeonics – An Anthology” also visually a stunning release.
