Jesus Piece

Philadelphia's Jesus Piece traffic in dynamic and explosive metallic hardcore that draws from industrial, death, and noise metal. Pushing at the boundaries of 21st century metalcore, the quintet's uncompromising sonic attack owes a tip of the hat to heavy music luminaries like Converge, Disembodied, and Deadguy. Established in 2015 and featuring the talents of Aaron Heard, David Updike, Luis Aponte, John DiStefano, and Anthony Marianaro, the band issued an eponymous EP shortly after forming, followed by a three-track promo in 2016 and a split with Florida-based hardcore outfit Malice at the Palace in 2017. After inking a deal with Southern Lord, the band headed to Chicago's Bricktop Recording Studio with Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos, Like Rats, Lord Mantis) at the helm.
