Unto Others
Biography
UNTO OTHERS have spent their seasons in the abyss and come out the other side with streams of harsh light breaking through their darkened gothic and classic metal motifs.
Hundreds of live shows across the world solidified UNTO OTHERS’ position on the rock and metal landscape as black clad, dark sunglass wearing successors to the likes of Sisters of Mercy and Type O Negative. “My goal was to push this thing so hard that more people know us as UNTO OTHERS,” says Gabe, alluding to the band’s moniker shift from Idle Hands.
Whether opening for the likes of extreme metal legends Carcass, Arch Enemy or Behemoth or blasting packed and sweaty rooms with traditional metal outfits like Haunt or Eternal Champion, Franco & Company never fail in grabbing the most unlikely and diverse crowds with their incendiary shadow play. Their stinging melodies and darkly hued sonics exist in a spot where gothic tones molest metallic inclinations with pop hooks and Gabe’s sardonic lyrical wit. Like the best of their inspirations, UNTO OTHERS isn’t merely content to plumb darkened musical shrines and narrow subgenres – Gabe’s sights are set on something bigger. Not surprisingly, Strength’s anthemic “When Will God's Work Be Done” placed at number four of Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal year end most played charts for 2022. Britain’s Kerrang! lauded that album: “As addictively bittersweet as blood on the lips, and tragically cool as a days-gone corpse, the second album from UNTO OTHERS reaffirms their reputation as the finest band in goth-rock today.”
